The Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Cancer Research Institute (DSIR-SIRO certified, Govt. Of India) is a unit of Himadri Memorial Cancer Welfare Trust and closely working with the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Cancer Hospital. Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Cancer Hospital (NCRI) is a well-organized Institute to provide cancer treatment at an affordable cost in a professional and compassionate manner catering to the North-East and Eastern India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan. The Research Institute is a well organised and well-equipped molecular biology lab constitute the separate research unit embedded within the hospital campus. A multidisciplinary team of clinicians and research professionals are collaborating to develop a systems medicine approach for cancer research for patient benefit.

Requirement: Masters in life science/ biological science/ biotechnology/ microbiology/ biochemistry/ other relevant subjects. Hands-on experience in microRNA biology/ cancer biology/ molecular biology lab techniques will be preferable.
Job position & details: Initially the appointment to the position will be for 1 year and it may extend for next 2 years. The position is required for the project entitled, “Proteomic profiling of extracellular vesicles (EVs) to identify markers that may facilitate specific isolation of tumour EVs from patient serum” funded by ICMR to Dr. Ruma Dey Ghosh (Principal Investigator at NSCBCRI) and Dr. Kartiki Desai (Principal Investigator at NIBMG). The research area of this project is on blood-based biomarker development for Breast Cancer. The selected candidate has to coordinate with the clinicians and patient to recruit them for this study, sample collection and processing, lab work, experiments for successful execution of this project. The efficient candidate may be selected further for PhD programme from our research Institute.
