In the 21st-century, most women use oral contraceptive pills for birth control or to stop unplanned family planning. This may have a little positive side with plenty of negative side effects. This may affect their health slowly.
Types of contraceptive pills
These pills may come in various combinations such as estrogen and progestin for the pill, only synthetic progestin for the mini pill, and levonorgestrel or ulipristal.
Side effect
The continuous consumption of these pills may cause some serious diseases like cancer. Consumption of these pills for a long time can increase the risk factors for breast cancer. Not only that it may ignite the risk factors for uterine cancer, and ovarian cancer too.
Risk factor
The reason behind this risk factor is that in this pill there are two prominent female hormones present namely estrogen and progesterone which particularly enhance the growth and the spread of breast cancer. It was also found that some hormones in this pill sometimes change the lining of the uterus or cervical mucus. In some studies, it was found that in less than five years the risk for breast cancer has increased by ten percent and in the last nine years, it has increased by sixty percent.
