Dr. Ashish Mukhopadhyay is not just an eminent Medical Hemato-Oncologist—he is a visionary whose lifelong mission has been to make world-class cancer care affordable, accessible, and compassionate. His unwavering dedication has transformed thousands of lives and established new benchmarks in oncology across Eastern India.

From Humble Beginnings to Extraordinary Heights
Born on 22nd January 1963 in a small village of Bardhaman, West Bengal, Dr. Mukhopadhyay's journey is a remarkable story of perseverance and purpose. Witnessing the healthcare challenges faced by people in rural communities inspired him to pursue medicine, not merely as a profession but as a lifelong commitment to serving humanity.

A Legacy of Academic Excellence
A brilliant student throughout his academic career, Dr. Mukhopadhyay completed his MBBS from R.G. Kar Medical College, where he earned distinctions and a Gold Medal. He further specialized with an MD in Pathology (Hematology), DNB in Pediatrics, and received advanced fellowship training in Bone Marrow Transplantation and Hematology at the prestigious Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai—one of India's premier cancer institutes.

A Pioneer in Hemato-Oncology
With exceptional clinical expertise and an innovative spirit, Dr. Mukhopadhyay introduced several groundbreaking achievements in Eastern India. He played a pioneering role in Bone Marrow Transplantation and successfully performed the region's first cord blood transplant on a child with thalassemia, offering hope where there was once none. His contributions have significantly advanced the treatment of blood cancers and complex hematological disorders.

A Vision Beyond Clinical Practice
For Dr. Mukhopadhyay, medicine has always been about people, not just diseases. Driven by the belief that no patient should be denied treatment due to financial limitations, he founded the Leukemia Foundation to support underprivileged patients. This vision eventually culminated in the establishment of the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Cancer Research Institute (NCRI)—a center dedicated to delivering comprehensive, ethical, and affordable cancer care.
