Advanced Pathology

Modern Pathology
Fully equipped with the latest technologically advanced gadgetry, the Department of Pathology runs multiple automated Blood & Body Fluid Analysers for its routine tests. Besides performing all the standard tests of Haematology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, & Clinical Pathology, it is also specifically well known for the following specialized investigations: The rates of these are very competitive, considering the under privileged patients.

  • Histopathology, Cytology & Bone Marrow Aspiration Studies

  • Tumor Marker Studies Hormonal Assays, ER, PR. Her2 neu

  • FNACs with / without Imaging

  • CT guided trucut biopsies.

  • Body Fluid / Cervical / Imprint Cytology

  • Microbiology

A complete and accurate pathology report is crucial to getting a precise diagnosis and deciding on the best treatment plan for you.Patients of our hospital benefit from the experience and expertise of our disease-specific pathologists —who are specialized in interpreting laboratory tests and evaluating cells, tissues, and organs to diagnose disease. They use state-of-the-art equipment and the most advanced techniques to analyze thousands of tissue samples each year.

The pathologist determines the precise type and severity (stage) of the cancer and also work with other members of our care team to recommend a treatment strategy that could include observation, surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, or a combination of these approaches.

Presently we are performing routine cytology with mandatory cell block preparation in each case.Small biopsies are usually processed on the day of receipt. Large tissues are grossed after optimum fixations. This is also important to mention that we are currently having all sorts of operative specimens. Histopathology sections are processed in the autoprocessor and we try our best to precisely maintain the quality of each section which helps us to make quick diagnosis even difficult and rare cases.

Our molecular biology team is equipped to perform RT-PCR tests. In near future we will start advanced molecular techniques to provide more accurate diagnosis in the field of oncopathology.

Oncopathology

The word "onco" is basically a latin word which denotes tumor. Therefore "oncopathology" primarily deals with the pathology and pathogenesis of tumors. It includes both hematolymphoid and other systemic neoplastic and preneoplastic conditions. The field itself is very vast and is being continuously updated owing to unceasingly and intense research by various dedicated institutes across the world.

The Onco Pathology department is the heart of our Hospital; central to any cancer management is tissue diagnosis. It includes various services like Histopathology, Cytology, Haematology, Biochemistry, Hematology, Immunohistochemistry, Flow Cytometry and diagnostic molecular pathology.

The Department of Clinical Haematology and Biochemistry has been upgraded with various equipment.

The histology section is well-equipped with wax dispensers, automated tissue processers, grossing stations with attached cameras and computers etc. It provides services of Histopathological diagnosis with Immunohistochemistry and Frozen section.
