Therapeutic Nuclear Medicine involves the use of radioactive isotopes administered to the patient for the treatment of cancer or control of cancer symptoms

 

Nuclear Medicine Ward – It is airconditioned specialized isolation ward for the patients receiving radioactive iodine therapy. This unit is specially designed for radiation containment with protective lead covering and other radiation containment measures. The facilities provided are similar to single room except that there is no provision for the attendant of the patient to stay with the patient for the risk of radiation.
